"Support our Mission  to create a Centre of Excellence for Pioneering Research into the Root Causes of Autoimmune Diseases....

So that  patients Thrive not just Survive!"

Re-Wild Amelia Project

"Our Mission is to  find the common Root Causes across Autoimmune Diseases, revolutionise  the standard of care and  address today's Autoimmune Disease epidemic!"
My Why
Early 2021, Amelia aged just 7, was rushed to hospital due to dangerously low haemoglobin levels, anaemia and near organ failure. She was put under immediate general anaesthetic, tubes inserted in all parts of her body, including swallowing a camera pill to investigate her middle stomach... and 24 hours later, our world would be turned upside down.

Our seemingly healthy little girl was diagnosed with a super rare disease called Collagenous Gastritis. They call it super rare because less than 100 cases are officially reported in medical literature and less than 300 people worldwide have ever been officially diagnosed since it's discovery back in 1989.

According to PubMed Journal,"there is currently no definitive information on the long-term progression of CG or treatment regimen, hence the need for continuous follow-up and monitoring of the disease."

Early 2021, aged just 7, Amelia was rushed to hospital due to dangerously low haemoglobin levels, anaemia and near organ failure.

A week of intrusive tests and investigations later, our world would be turned upside down.

Our seemingly healthy little girl was now diagnosed with Collagenous  Gastritis - a Super Rare Autoimmune Disease.
It is  considered 'Super Rare' because less than 300 people worldwide have ever been officially diagnosed since it's discovery back in 1989.

Amelia has been in and out of hospital for years, having undergone multiple procedures and diagnostic tests designed to seek out symptoms to manage with drugs - never once investigating root causes.

'First Do No Harm'

"First Do No Harm"

Currently, the typical 'Standard of Care' for children with Autoimmune diseases  does not look into root causes

Children like Amelia are expected to progress through various generic drugs, enduring ongoing biopsy interventions and hospital stays to test the efficiency of the drugs in reducing inflammation and managing symptoms.

In other words, it's a live, ongoing , imposed human drug trial on children!

Considering the clear evidence that all generic immune-suppressing drugs have negative long term side-effects, including the likelihood of developing at least one other secondary Autoimmune disease down the road too.

The medical establishment describe this as 'unintended' consequences of the Autoimmune disease. We call this an [avoidable] circle of harm

But the Autoimmune disease did not sign the prescriptions and develop this standard of care for itself.

This is UNACCEPTABLE . This is FIXABLE. Our MISSION is to FIX IT.

Our Mission is to explore metabolic dysfunction as the Common Root Cause across all Autoimmune Diseases.

Our Mission

Evidence shows that all Autoimmune diseases are a function of metabolic dysregulation and points to the pivotal role of the gut microbiome. This evidence is the central thesis for our Pilot Study By viewing Autoimmune diseases through a common lens of root cause, centred around the common theme of metabolic dysregulation,

Yet the existing medical system in the UK does NOT test or acknowledge the gut microbiome as part of their diagnostics.

Our hypothesis states that if we can solve a super-rare Autoimmune disease like Amelia's with this metabolic root cause focusthen the benefits of our findings extend to the millions of Autoimmune sufferers worldwide.

We need your help to change the paradigm and develop a New Autoimmune Disease Testing protocol - one based on a complete metabolic review and root cause analysis.

The implications of success in this study are profound as understanding root cause also leads us to prevention!

The Inspiration for Re-Wild Amelia Project

The Inspiration for Re-Wild Amelia Project

The name 'Re-Wild' was Amelia's idea after being inspired by Isabella Tree's book, Wilding and her challenges to 'rewild' parts of Britain. Amelia then thought, her own stomach needed 're-wilding'  so that it too could restore itself back to it's original natural happy state - hence, the Re-Wild Amelia Project was borne!

The project is a movement for a PARADIGM SHIFT in how Autoimmune Diseases (AID) are perceived, tested and treated.

Our mission is to prove that more precise and less invasive interventions are possible, leaving generic autoimmune suppressing drugs as a second option - and not the standard!

With your support our mission is to engage a world class multidisciplinary team to explore root causes of metabolic dysfunction of both super rare AID patients like Amelia together with more prevalent AID children by looking at their commonalities, not just their differences.

If we can solve a super-rare Autoimmune disease, we are then solving for millions of other sufferers too with our findings.

Our Promise

Our Promise

Our Promise:

We are a not-for-profit CIC registered organisation with 100% of ALL funding allocated to supporting this Pilot Study solely.

Our medical team under Dr Hajji and Dr Apostolopoulos are world class.  Both have complimentary skills to create a multidisciplinary team to role out the study successfully.

We also welcome anyone interested in partnering or supporting us in any way.

Our goal is big and it may be a long road for Amelia with stretches of strict lifestyle and diet changes etc, however, I promise to share regularly how the study evolves and what procedures, interventions and diet restrictions are in  progress via my blog on this page

We strongly believe that solving Amelia's rare Autoimmune disease, opens the door to a whole new and better pathway of care, helping millions of other Autoimmune sufferers too.

A very big gracious thank-you for your support!

Our Pilot Study -  Advancing Autoimmune Disease Management

Our Pilot Study

A Pilot Study Leveraging Multi-Omics and Immune Profiling for Personalised Testing Protocol Targeting Metabolic Pathways and the Gut Microbiome

Current Challenge:
Autoimmune diseases affect millions globally, with conventional approaches often addressing symptoms superficially. Our pilot study disrupts this by investigating the groundbreaking
Hypothesis -
Metabolic dysregulation and the gut microbiome are core factors in all autoimmune conditions.

Breakthrough Potential:
By examining rare cases like Amelia's, we aim to uncover insights applicable to a broad demographic. This initiative strives to develop an innovative, individualised testing protocol grounded in cutting-edge metabolic assessment, gut microbiome analysis, and patient immune profiling. Through substantial data analysis using bioinformatics tools, we seek to deepen our understanding and craft tailored treatment strategies for autoimmune disorders.

Societal Impact:
Success in this endeavor promises transformative treatment options and the potential for preventative measures. This paradigm shift presents a significant opportunity to enhance the quality of life for millions worldwide grappling with autoimmune diseases.

Call to Action:
Your investment empowers us to redefine autoimmune disease management, harnessing precise therapies and, ultimately, prevention. Rigorous controls and monitoring, coupled with the integration of several omics and immune profiling, will guide the project. Furthermore, substantial data analysis will prepare the groundwork for an AI prediction platform, enhancing our ability to predict and prevent autoimmune diseases.

Meet our  outstanding Medical & Research Team
Meet our  outstanding Medical & Research Team
Dr Hajji Nabil is PhD in Molecular Oncology.
Research Fellow Faculty of Medicine, Cancer Division at Imperial College London
Nabil is one of those rare multi-disciplinary research scientists who does pioneering work across a multitude of fields. He is currently the director of NCET laboratory toxicity testing, which includes evaluation of emerging chemicals and their impact on human health. He is also an advisor to the UK department of health on the challenging and increasing number of toxic compounds we live with.

Nabil's research interest focuses on translational medicine examining how genetics/epigenetic alterations and immune-tumour microenvironment changes, affect cancer tumour response to treatment.

Nabil's most notable work recently, was finding the mechanism behind classical anticancer treatment resistance of several types of cancer, which he found was related to deficiencies in the epigenetic mechanism. He also developed In vivo Imaging of Epigenetic Biomarkers for Cancer Chemo-resistance which gives rise to more effective personalised treatments in Cancer.

"I met Nabil by chance and the timing was surrendipitous as I was in a dilemma  - to accept the auto-immune suppressant drugs doctors were pressing me on, or not?! Nabil was quick to assure me that it was not the solution.

His interest in the Gut Microbiome, metabolites and epigenetics, makes him the perfect person to lead the "Re-Wild Amelia Project".

Nabil is one of the most authentically caring individuals I have ever met . He is also very excited about the project and agrees there must be a better protocol of care for all children with Autoimmune diseases."
